The Heart Beehive Applique design makes such a cute valentine. I used Embrilliance Essentials to make a few changes. I eliminated the branch, leaves, and two of the bees. That left the applique hive. I moved one bee and added the words “bee mine.”

Hoop water-soluble fabric-type stabilizer. Add a basting stitch in the hoop. That will show where the fabric goes for the applique. Place a layer of dense felt and fabric over the basting stitches.

Stitch the first color stop until the stitching makes a complete pass around. That will secure the fabric and felt just as it were a tackdown stitch.

Stop the machine, remove the hoop, and trim the fabric and felt to the stitch line.

Place the hoop back on the machine and finish stitching.

When done, trim the stabilizer close to the stitching and remove the rest with a wet cloth. So cute!
