Get Realistic Fur With Twister Tweed Thread

I am rapidly becoming a big fan of Robison-Anton’s Twister Tweeds. The rayon embroidery thread has two dyed colors twisted together to give a heathered stitch appearance. It is perfect for embroidery fill areas where you want some texture and dimension.

Unlike variegated thread, which stitches in stripes, Twister Tweeds are more like dots of color. I first tried it last month on another project. I used it instead of a brown for eye ring and tail and love the results.

With pet designs half-price through June 22, now is a great time to give this thread a try! Here are just a few of the half-price pet designs that would coordinate well with this specialty thread.

Ann the Gran has more than 20 colors of Twister Tweed available. Those that would be ideal for animals are

Grey, Black and Brown

Golds

Here are some designs that would work quite well:

Large Fill Areas like Go Bulldogs

Accent Fills like Doggy Bone Applique

Feathered Edges like Kitty Peering

Linework like I Love Cats

Text like Paw Prints on Heart

Give Twister Tweeds a try and make your pet embroidery come to life!
