Machine embroidery with mylar makes your projects
pop. Plus, right now, you can get Volume 1 of Kimberbell’s mylar card series at
25 percent off!
Now is the perfect time to start embroidering cards
for the Christmas season and birthdays. Kimberbell’s Dimensional Mylar Applique and Cards, Volume 1, set is so versatile, you can make your own cards
or make sets of cards for wonderful gifts.
Simply stitch light snowman or flower pot embroidery
on card stock, then add 3D snowflakes and flowers on top.
Give the card a dual purpose by making the snowflake
as an ornament. Use scrapbooking pop dots to attach the snowflakes to the card.
That way, they can be removed and hung on the tree.
These designs can be stitched as freestanding applique
that can be used as embellishments for wreaths, hair, and other accessories.
They can also be stitched directly to shirts, quilts, and totes, just as you
would any other applique design.
Mylar gives machine embroidery designs an extra bit
of sparkle and shine without overwhelming the piece. Purely Gates Mylar
is iridescent, so it matches and reflects the colors of whatever fabrics and
embroidery threads that are nearby.
Although mylar can be used as material in standard
appliques, it is perhaps best utilized when stitched with designs that have
been digitized especially for mylar. In addition to Kimberbell Designs,
Purely Gates also has a variety
of designs that include light stitching over mylar.
Add some sparkle to your embroidery!
