Tips for Saving Embrilliance Files

Embrilliance is an affordable, easy-to-use, and versatile design editing program that you can start basic and add other parts later, if you like.

We will use the free design Birds in Flowers to show the importance of saving working files.

With Embrilliance, you can save working files and stitch files. Stitch files are the kind that you load on your embroidery machine (PES, VP3, JEF, etc). Working files have a .be extension and can be easily edited as you go.

Let’s say I was to delete the gold birds and add text. Two lines of text are added to the other parts of the design.

Working files allow you to still be able to select parts of the design in case you want to move them around or make changes.

If you don’t save a working file, you won’t be able to go back and make changes to the text, for instance. It is included in the entire design group. You would have to delete the text manually, delete it, and start over.

When making changes to any design, you always want to save it as a working file and give it another name different from the original. That way, you don’t compromise the original file and will always have it available.

You can see what the design looks like without opening it by using Embrilliance Thumbnailer.
