Free Easy Lined Stocking Pattern & Embroidery Tips

Need a quick stocking that is fully lined? We've got you covered!

The Stocking

Download the free pattern below. Tape the pieces together and cut out two sets of stocking pieces, one for the stocking and one for the lining.

Embroider as desired. Add a Christmas design (70% off), monogram, or name

Trim stabilizer close to the design on the back side of the stocking material.

Place stocking and lining pieces right sides together and sew/serge around the outside leaving the top open.

Turn the stocking right side out and leave the lining inside out. Trim seam allowances and clip curves, if necessary. Insert the lining inside the stocking, wrong sides together.

The Cuff

Cut cuff material 21.5“ x 10.5“. With right sides together, sew/serge the short ends together to create a tube.

If you are stitching a name on the cuff, do it before joining the cuff seam.

When embroidering on fabrics with a nap or pile, use a water-soluble topper to keep stitches from sinking out of site.

Fold the cuff in half, right sides out, matching raw edges.

Place the cuff inside the stocking lining, lining up the center seam with that of the stocking and matching all raw edges the whole way around the top.

Pin in place and serge/sew together around the top of the stocking.

Pull the cuff out from inside the stocking and fold down over the top of the stocking to cover the seam and form the cuff. Attach a hanger and it’s good to go!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a blessed new year!
