Tea Pot Table Topper or Wall Hanging

Industry expert Pat Williams has created this adorable project that can be used as a table topper or wall hanging.

Tea Pot 1

Four blocks are created right in the hoop.

Applique is done with invisible thread and an E-stitch (blanket stitch) to make it look more like it was stitched by hand. An ingenious technique, Pat uses water-soluble thread to stitch placement lines. That way, they will wash away in case any stitches show around the applique edge.

Applique pieces are secured with a fusible web like Mistyfuse.

Tea Pot 4

The background is stipple quilted on battilizer like Bosal Stable-Batt.

Pat also attaches blocks and sashing strips in a unique way that is so much easier than piecing. She also used prairie points as accents, which was a really nice touch.

The illustrated directions are easy to follow. What could be better? The designs are now 75% off! That means you can get each block for just $3 each, just click on the link under each photo above. It is a great project that can be finished in a day or leisurely over a weekend.
