Paisley Eggs

Paisley Easter Egg by Starbird is an adorable design (and it's on sale!) that is perfect for Easter napkins, hand towels, or a basket liner. It stitches up very fast and makes a nice last-minute hostess gift for your holiday festivities.

Hoop a fabric-type water-soluble stabilizer. One layer worked quite well. You can use a temporary spray adhesive or a glue stick (lapel stick) to hold the napkin in place. I positioned the napkin so that the point of the corner was directly north and south.

Use the same thread in the bobbin so that the back looks just as nice as the front. Be sure to clip jump stitches between every color change (on the front and the back). The end result will be much cleaner. Waiting to trim everything at the end is a nightmare because of all of the overlapping threads.

When done, take everything out of the hoop and trim excess stabilizer. Rinse the rest away. The back is now just as pretty as the front!

Beautiful and well done, Debbie!!!!!

I can see this done with 6 eggs in a circle, in a star shape, on a centerpiece mat. The center would be open and a vase of flowers placed just right, surrounded by the eggs.
