My husband bought me a new Embroidery Machine this week. It is the Baby Lock Ellisimo Gold.
I upgraded from a Baby Lock Ellageo which was a good machine but this one is 100 times better.

I found this pattern on the internet and thought they would be good as a gift for our Canada day when I am in Florida.
I also made them for a craft shop I sell at.
I had to make them a bit bigger than the actuall pattern but I think they turned out quite well.

Tea towels and wash cloths

I found these great Tea towels and wash cloths at our Dollar Store.
They feel and wash and dry almost like the expensive ones.
The craft shop has sold out of them so many times and I thought when Im first made them that they might not sell but boy they have just taken off.
The store even had a couple of special orders from other lakes not even near us.

These are some pictures of Hummel"s I embroidered on my White 3300 machine.
I had to rezize each one in Embird to make them fit the machine. I think they turned out real nice.
The pictures do not do them justice though.

Luggage tags

I downloaded the tag from the blog last week and had an idea how to add in the name and address in the final steps so just before I finished the outside and the place for the hole at the top I removed the hoop and placed a business cad with the persons name and address then placed a piece of transparent yinyl on top and replaced the hoop and finished the sewing.

I just embroidered the pictures on some cotton I had on hand and put
2 layers of batting in between the 2 layers and used some other cotton I had as bindings.

I use towels, then insul-bright for the inside, the another la yer of towel. Sew the sides using bias tape.

I also do as trie3 does but with one change I use prequilted fabric sometimes and layer it with pre-quilted insul-bright and pre-quilted again and then use bias tape for sides. I have also done the same idea with denium one layer of thin cotton batting , insul-bright , thin cotton batting , and denim again sometimes I will also just serge the edges with contrast thread as well.
Enjoy !

What is the Sun Bunnet Sue & Boy quilt sewn on, it is beautiful. It looks like quilted fabric, maybe not.

Thanks Cathy & Mary for the comments on my quilt.
Actually the fabric is a very fine print cotton with the print being in the same white as the fabric.
I had it left over from another quilt.
I sold this at one of the craft stores at the lake where I take things to be sold over the summer.
This year I am doing T Towels and dish cloths I will post a picture of them soon.

Hi Annie,
Sorry I took so long to answer this. I have not been on here much lately but in any case to answer your questions I used an 8 inch square and if you want to email me we can talk about the Sun Bonnets.thetourlady@highspeedcrow.ca

I am new to sewing and quilting - I never thought of embroidering in a block for a quilt! I love it! I see embroidery designs all the time that I like but think where would I use them? Thanks for posting your work and sparking my imagination.

I have a Brother machine and I've made several Disney quilts similar to the one in the picture. I've given them for shower gifts and everyone loves them. If they've even picked out a name for the baby, I do one square with the baby's name and a heart around it.

Hi TravelBug,
I am the one that made this. It is so easy and looks great for any occasion. I use mine when I go on cruises because sometimes it is cool in the dining room or the theaters.

Hi Artist,
A friend in Florida had the pattern I think it was by Simplicity but not sure. It is just cut and tied. No sewing. Real easy to do.

This is a great idea! I am delighted to hear they are taking off (I don't see any wings?? LOL).
I am also very fond of doing things in a single color, this is a really terrific sample of that. It is simple yet really attractive!

I do something similar, but I charge 7.00 per tea towel and usually can't keep up with the demand. I get my towels at Sam's Club, wash them and take the machine on the road...
