I save the design. Then I have have tried changing the name on the file. I click open & a box comes up open/save/cancel.
What type of file should I save it as. I do not have an embrodiery machine but would like to use the pattern to embroder by hand.
Please help.

Interesting question. I don't know of any way to do this because these designs are 'programmed' for specific formats for machines.
One thing that might work would be to do a 'right click' (the mouse) on the design photo. Select "save picture as" and proceed to your format and save it to your computer. Then, in your photo software (Windows has a decent one, but I don't know about MAC), enlarge the picture and print it out. You would have a 'pattern' to follow.
