I'm wondering if anyone using a sewing machine in a rv, during the trips?
As we are going snowboarding this winter, I'm thinking about taking machine with me to fix our equipment and making simplistic stuff, like pillow cases and basic quilts for presents. Guess I'm looking now for a lightweight machine with a fairly small power requirements. Since free space is a problem too, I had a look at recent mini machines recommendations like these from Nymag and these from Sewingland and, well, I'm pretty confused. These machines they mark as the best options available look like a cheap chinese stuff, and even the SINGER's Start 1304 looks totally unreliable.
Though, I guess, it would be pretty impractical to take a metal one on the road.
So the question is: do you have any specific recommendations? What should I look for?

At home I use Brother and Janome, but I've never heard about their cheaper models.

Thanks in advance!
