I know that Gorilla Glue is a sure thing for this issue, but it leaves behind an off-white glop of visible glue. I am assuming you don't want it to show.

Some people are not aware that getting the best adhesion is easy. You need to glue EACH piece rather than just the background. You learned to put glue on just one side in Kindergarten. Glue bonding to itself, will get you a significantly better bond every time.

Here is an excerpt from Howthingswork.com.

Most multipurpose adhesives will bond glass and ceramics, but specialized versions often bond them more securely. They include:

China and glass cement: Many cements are sold for mending china and glass. These cements usually come in tubes. Acrylic latex-base cements have good resistance to water and heat. Clamping is usually required.
Silicone rubber adhesives: Only silicone adhesives made specifically for glass and china are recommended. They form very strong bonds, with excellent resistance to water and temperature extremes. Clamping is usually required.

HOPE THIS HELPS!
