I am looking for some suggestions on what type of stabilizer to use on T-shirts and sweatshirts when doing machine embroidery.  I have scrapped so many projects because of puckering and more.

I have tried tear away, cut away, lightweight, medium weight, double layers, new needles--Whew!

Any help would be most appriciated!

I use cut away.  It could be the hooping method or the design itself.

If you have not done so, test the design on another type of fabric.

I use temporary spray for fabric (Sulky brand will dissipate, 505 needs to be washed out) on the stabilizer and then press it to the back of the shirt.   Then hoop.  I find this method reduces getting the hoop sticky.

Everyone has their own method.  Testing is about the only way to find the best way for you.

I found this BLOG - http://www.annthegran.co...fabrics.aspx pretty well explains my method, except for the preferred "stabilizer"!  Note this particular stabilizer choice is for slinky, stretchy types of fabric.
