On Ann Cobb's applique patterns, the design sews as an outline stitch around the entire design before it sews the zig zag stitch.  How can I get my appliques to do this?  I thought the Applique button in Digitize and Stitch would do this, but it jumps all over my design.  Is this a case of making sure you have a solid outline of the same thickness?  What if it has filled portions of the design touching the outline?  Thanks!
