Garden Flags

Garden Flags

Browsing a social media group, I came across an adorable idea that would be so easy to make. They are garden flags, and several used split applique embroidery designs which makes them easy to customize.

This one was adorable and used glitter vinyl for the appliqued flowers. Many used burlap. After sewing, they applied a generous coat of Camp Dry or other weatherproofing to protect and preserve the piece from the elements.

What grandmother wouldn't be delighted to get this as a gift?

These were stitched on placemats and will be used for tributes, just in time for Memorial Day.

This also started out as a burlap placemat. Add coordinating duck cloth edging and a few hanging loops for a classy display that would be perfect for newlyweds.

Here are some designs on AnntheGran.com that would make fun flags. All you have to do, is add a font!

Try the Cupcake Split Applique, perfect for a birthday celebration!

The Mr. & Mrs. Split Applique would be useful at a wedding reception.

These two, Watermelon Double Applique and

Beach Pail and Shovel Double Applique,

would be perfect at a picnic or reunion.

I think I'll get busy and stitch up a few!
