This is a photo of my beautiful younger sister when she was about 5. I"m going through the many photos my Grandma took of her when Sarah spent time at Grandma"s. There"s just something about the expression on her face in this photo that I just love.

Learning to Ski

These were taken at Perisher Blue in the NSW Ski fields of Australia (yes, we do get snow!). It was my first time skiing. Thankfully my waterskiing abilities paid off and I was able to transfer them across. I managed to master getting down the intermediate slope by the end of the weekend!
My journaling reads: "I have only been to the snow a handful of times in my life, but only one time to actually ski. We went for a ski weekend at Perisher Blue in 2005 with some friends. I was hoping my water skiing skills would help me out. After a lesson and a few trips down the beginners run I was ready for the real slopes (well the intermediate level anyway). My first run down I went sideways the whole way til I fell and then repeated the same sequence all the way down. After a few goes I got the hang of it and actually got to watch where I was going! I managed to get myself stuck in the fence a few times. All in all an awesome weekend and certainly one to remember!"

This was my first visit to the Australian snowfields in 2000. It was not long after I met my now DH and he took me down to visit his family in Albury (my first visit to a big farm too!). We drive over to Mt Buffalo for the day and had a play around in the snow.

Recently I"ve been going through my grandparent"s old photos and scanning them in. This one is one of my favourites. It"s of my Grandma"s brother and partner. I feel the love when I look at the two of them together and when I saw this stunning collection, I thought it was just perfect to showcase this beautiful photo.
The quote is by Julie Wittey "Love is a moment in time that lasts forever".

Shop-a-holic

I thought I"d do a fun page about my shopping addiction with these fun kits.
Journaling reads:
"My name is Louise and I am a shop-a-holic! I am the first to admit I have a problem: I love to shop! I love a good sale. If there is something on sale I will buy it, not because I need it, but because “it was on sale”. I can’t just go and window shop. I have to come home with something. It doesn’t have to be for me. I love buying presents for others too. I don’t buy expensive things, but I love to buy expensive things on sale."

This is a photo of my younger sister from when we visited the US in 1994. It was the first time me or mytwo sisters had ever seen snow so we were pretty excited.
The journaling reads: "In Janurary 1994, I went on a holiday to America with my Mum, Dad, two sisters Camille and Louise and my Nanna. We spent three weeks travelling by car from LA through Las Vegas, down to San Fansisco and back up the coast line to LA. I was so excited to play in the snow at Yosemite National Park It was the first time I’ve ever seen snow!"

My little niece was born last week and I managed to capture the most beautiful photo of her with her Mum. She is so precious. The colours in this kit were just perfect for the emotions I was feeling while creating this page. The journaling reads:
"There is nothing more beautiful then watching a Mother with her newborn child".

I love to shop and I love a bargain. Last week I went shopping of an outfit to wear to my SIL"s wedding and I managed to find this beautiful dress. It was AU$25 and when I went up to the counter again it was reduced again to AU$15 from an original AU$130. I was so proud. I absolutely love the dress and can"t wait to wear it in just 5 weeks time!

I love nature and I love taking photos of it. These are photos we took while on holiday on the Sunshine Coast in 2006. We took a drive up to Noosa and through the beautiful countryside. There were so many beautiful views.
The quote reads: "There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough, to pay attention to the story ~ Linda Hogan"

These were photos taken on a Sunset Cruise in Vanuatu earlier this year. After a week of rain it finally stopped on our last day and we managed to see a sunset. These painted background papers were just perfect.

Very beautiful! She is so sweet sitting there in that big chair, I also LOVE the way you used the frame to focus on her face and blended the rest into the paper. The scattered and clustered elements are placed so well, and love the way you wrapped it all up with the bow and added your title to it! very creative. Love this!

Looks like fun. I actually felt my waterskiing abilities hurt me when I tried to snow ski... I kept trying to lean backwards instead of forwards which resulted in numerous falls. And getting to the intermediate slope in just one weekend.... what a great accomplishment. This is such a Wonderful layout for remembering this weekend!

I love how you use the icicles, how you placed the snowman in the center of the photo cluster, how you labeled all the pictures, and especially how you made the text go around the embellishments on the side of the page :) I loved the title border at the bottom too :) Absolutely top notch work!

I ADORE vintage photos and this one is so full of friendship and love - how special that you have your grandparent's old photos and are creating and preserving their love! The LO is beautiful, the placement of the elements and use of space if wonderful. LOVE the little butterfly on your Grandmother's brother's partner... and them flying all over the page. The size of the photo is great and with all that is going on you are pulled into the photo - and the title work with the alpha is terrific and helps bring you in. LOVE this!
