I think I picked something a little difficult for my 1st project. . . . a tractor ME"d on the back of a pair of overalls. A dear friend & co-worker retired. He was looking forward to spending time on his farm. The pattern has a lot of color changes and overalls are THICK! What was I thinking???? But it came out awesome. . . don"t you think? He wore them the entire evening at his retirement party. He asked where we found overalls that had a picture of his tractor on it. He thought we purchased them that way . . . I received the biggest hug of my life when he realized that I put it on there for him!

This is my latest project. As usual, I didn"t pick anything easy! This was a true learning experience, but I loved the final result as did the person who received it.

I am really impressed! I really think you did an excellent job on a difficult project. On a difficulty scale of 1 to 10, I would call this an 8.
You had to go over 2 very heavy seams, there is a lot of detail and multiple registration points. That does add up to a challenging project.
Congratulations on the beautiful outcome AND thank you for sharing it with us.

Designs come from all over and Ann (I think) understands that. Just return again and again to ATG and be the great contributor that you are.
We all love sharing! Pat

gospo,
you can always look to see what ATG has. Be sure to look at the free designs & at the ones for sale. I found this one on the Dakota website. There are a multitude of different tractor designs out there!

This is Awesome! What needles did you use? My only concern with doing this over the jeans is the heavy seams. I have a Bernina Deco 600 and I can not slow down the machine like a regular sewing machine. I would be afraid that it would break the needles.

how beautiful. How difficult was it to do? How many hoopings?

cme,
It is 3 different patterns that I combined and was able to do it in 1 hooping. The bag has a flexible frame in it. I had to turn it inside out, putting the machine inside the bag to ME. The hard part was changing thread colors reaching inside the bag to do it. Thank goodnes my Brother machine threads itself!! Even harder was changing the bobbin when I ran out of thread!
I'm a true beginner, learning the majority of ME from ATG website. This is only my 2nd ME project!

That is really a nice design. Where did you find the dog designs?

rnh-You bring up a good point, be sure you start with a full bobbin when doing something this tricky.
Did you know that prewound bobbins vary in length from 100 yards to about 150 yards? So, it does pay to get the most from any bobbins.
I picked up some bobbins that had prewound thread (in the cheapie bin) but it only had 50 yards on each bobbin! I wanted to play with it to see if there was any value. . . there isn't.
