My brother PE-700II is about 2 years old and it started squeaking a little bit ago and now it's spitting tiny, tiny drops of oil from somewhere behind the needle onto my projects.

Is this something I can fix on my own, or do I have to take it in?  And is it serious?  Please say no!

You will have to take it in for service.  I have no idea if this is serious or an easy fix.  Hopefully it will not be expensive.  Routine service is usually around $70.

Computerized sewing machines are not to be oiled/lubricated by the owner as these areas are lubricated and sealed at the factory and have to be attended to by an authorized sewing machine tech.   Brother, in this instance.
