I am trying to download a patteren from the site. And I can not get it to download as a word of pdf file and my system does not read a .pes file. Can anyone help me.

Computer operating systems (OS) do not read machine embroidery files.
The downloaded file has to be unzipped and then you can send the unzipped file to your embroidery machine via USB or memory card.
To view a machine embroidery file you will need machine embroidery catalog software.

There is so much to learn about embroidery. Be sure to read as much as you have time for on a reliable site. AnnTheGran is one of the premiere sites for quality products and information.
If you are a 'newbie,' please do play with your machine, you might want to do the project from this site, it is about the PE700 but almost everything you read is the same on all machines.
Ask as many questions as you feel comfortable doing. I do recommend the reading first so that you can use the correct terms. If you ask about thread, you need to know about embroidery thread.
There is a lot to learn but you will love your new craft and even make a little money with it. . . .
